Data Access

E4 is now accepting applications to conduct research with diagnostic and instructional data from Curriculum Associates’ i-Ready program.

Individuals with research ideas aligned with E4’s research priorities are invited to submit an application that will be reviewed by the E4 Research Oversight Committee. Researchers whose applications are accepted will be provided with secure access to i-Ready data.

Math and literacy data are available for an anonymous national sample of more than 11 million K-8 students. Data are available from 2016 to 2022 and include specific information on student learning and learning growth in various math and literacy domains:

Math domains
  • Numbers and Operations
  • Algebra
  • Geometry
  • Measurement
Literacy domains
  • Phonological awareness
  • Phonics
  • Comprehension
  • High frequency words
  • Vocabulary

Anonymous student identifiers allow for longitudinal studies of student learning. Anonymous school identifiers and various school-level characteristics (e.g., student race/ethnicity, free or reduced-price lunch recipient status) are available as well.

If you have questions at any point during the application process, please visit our contact page. We would be happy to discuss your research idea prior to you preparing your application!

Completed applications will be reviewed by E4 and Curriculum Associates team members on an ongoing basis. In most cases, applicants will be notified of the team’s decision within two weeks of submitting their application. Applications should include a 1500-word proposal. Researchers whose applications are accepted will then work closely with E4 staff to securely receive a data set for their research. More details on the application process are available in the application form linked in the button below.
